At Tianjin University at China's School of Computer Science and Technology, Dr. Tie Qiu (M'12-SM'16) holds the position of Full Professor. He was appointed assistant professor at Dalian University of Technology's School of Software in 2008 and associate professor there in 2013. In 2014–2015, he served as a visiting professor at Iowa State University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the United States. He is an area editor of Ad Hoc Networks (Elsevier), an associate editor of Computers and Electrical Engineering (Elsevier), a guest editor of Future Generation Computer Systems, and an associate editor of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking (ToN), IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering (TNSE), and IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems. He chairs several international conferences as the general chair, program chair, workshop chair, publicity chair, publication chair, or TPC member. In international journals and conference proceedings, including IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, IEEE Communications, INFOCOM, GLOBECOM, and others, he has written or coauthored over 200 scientific papers in addition to ten books. As ESI highly referenced papers, there are eighteen papers included. In addition to his 20 patents, he has developed six copyrighted software systems. In addition to being a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, he is a distinguished member of the China Computer Federation (CCF).
